The Suzaku Seyfert 1 Sample

The Suzaku Seyfert 1 Sample

The sample is comprised of 69 Seyfert 1 galaxies (i.e. Seyfert 1, 1.2 and 1.5) locate from 0.00234 < z < 0.237 and possessing intrinsic column densities less than 1022 cm-2. It includes 47 Broad-line Seyfert 1s (BLS1s) and 22 Narrow-line Seyfert 1s. The sample is defined in Waddell & Gallo (2020).

Spectroscopy

Many of the AGN in the sample were observed multiple times over the lifetime of Suzaku. Here, all multi-epoch spectra were merged to produce a single average XIS spectrum for each source. Likewise for the PIN spectrum. Initial spectral results are presented in Waddell & Gallo (2020).

Eventually, each spectrum will be available for viewing and download.

Light Curves

Eventually, light curves for each observation will be available for viewing and download.

Sample Related Papers

A list of papers published by my group related to the Suzaku Seyfert 1 sample. Most of them are examining and comparing broad-line and narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies.

I. X-ray spectral properties

Science Paper (ADS)

This is the initial paper in which we define the sample and describe the average, broadband (XIS + PIN) spectral properties. The work was led by former undergraduate student S. Waddell.

II. Iron emission and absorption

Science Paper (ADS)

This is the second paper based on the Suzkau Seyfert 1 sample and it focusses on the Fe K band. We find differences in the average line profile of NLS1s and BLS1s. There may also be differences in the ratio of iron emission-to-absorbed that might point to different torus geometries between the classes. This work was led by former undergrad S. Waddell who is now at MPE.
